For those of you with Netflix, check this out!
I have been waiting & waiting for a Disney Documentary to make it to the Watch Instantly list and after seeing the Disney Parks features endless times, I was ecstatic when my boyfriend told me of this little bit of magic!
It chronicles the development and founding of the company we all know and love and even lets you in on some great secrets! Like how Steve Jobs invested and saved Pixar early on, how Woody was originally too rude and negative for production, & how incredible it was to create millions of ants and doors in both A Bugs Life & Monsters, Inc. There are even some special appearances from the voices of Pixar’s most treasured characters. My favorite part was Tom Hanks recalling how he and Tim cried the first time they saw Toy Story 2 during When Somebody Loved Me.
I feel spoiled growing up on these films and having them forever be in my life. I had seen animation before (The Land Before Time, The Brave Little Toaster- created by the founder of Pixar- etc.), but when Toy Story came around, I thought it looked cool, of course, but I wasn’t old enough to understand how amazing and ground-breaking the technology was. For those born before the 90s, Pixar was revolutionary. But I suppose I do feel better about myself, not being a kid raised on Avatar and thinking“that’s just the average way a film should look.”
Appreciate visually stunning films, folks.
